Tyler Ryan is a multimedia artist who received a BFA in photography at Maine College of Art. He is a founding member of Pseudodox Collective, an art and technology group. Their collaborative work, VRage, debuted at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Portland, ME in 2017 and was shown at Currents New Media Art Festival in Santa Fe, NM in June 2018. Tyler's works have been exhibited nationally in the United States including POOL PARTY’s group show Belly Flop in Palm Springs, CA, 2018. He was awarded Most Innovative Artwork in the 2017 MECA BFA Exhibition for his piece redCamera. redCamera was on view in SPACE gallery's front window in Portland ME, 2018, in its time up it captured over 500,000 photographs and interactions. Tyler will continue working with virtual reality, interactivity, web-based media, and experimental photography to grow his meta-verse, COSMIC LAG.

Work History

Pseudodox Collective

Co-Founder/ Head Curator, 2016 - Present.

As the head Curator and artist on the project, (VRage or Virtual Reality Art Gallery Experience,) I managed and curated 14 artists works into an immersive virtual reality experience, bridging the gap between art and technology. VRage was shown in the Institute of Contemporary Art in Portland, ME, and at Currents New Media Art and Technology Festival in Santa Fe, NM.


Graphic Design/ Marketing, May, 2019 - Present.

I design for print and render 3D models for large format vinyl decals which are then installed on each client's specialized OpBox.


IT Specialist, January - April, 2019.

This position consist of assisting and collabroating with internal as well as external contractors to solve various techincal issues.


Video Specialist/ Retail, 2017 - 2019.

I edit and transfer analog video formats into various digital formats. This position requires me to have knowledge of all video formats, and a strong and concise workflow management.

ArtDoc at Maine College of Art

Lighting technician/ editor, 2014 - 2018.

I created opportunities for students to have their work professionally documented. Through this work study, I successfully learned how to light and document artwork, from paintings to fashion pieces. Other tasks included studio management, archiving, and retouching.

Russell French Photography

Studio Assistant, June - September, 2017.

I acquired skills and techniques in lighting, set styling, and industry standard retouching, and kept the studio, equipment, and set tidy for this commercial food photographer.
